GMAT
Though we tailor our services to each client's unique needs, the following is a typical GMAT preparation package. It includes twenty-four hours of in-person time (not including the Initial Meeting) and another ten hours of online/phone support time. Longer, more detailed, or alternately focused packages can be created as needed.
INTRODUCTION
Initial Meeting : Getting To Know You (1-2 hrs)
Review results of diagnostic GMAT student took at home.  Set goals related to test taking, admissions, and work load.

TOPIC 1: MATH METHODOLOGY
Lesson 1 : The Four-Step Method (2.5 hrs)
Introduction to and use of Focused Coaching's four-step method for solving math problems.
Lesson 2 : Categorical Approaches (2.5 hrs)
Introduction and implementation of six tools used in attacking GMAT math questions.
Lesson 3 : Sufficiency (2.5 hrs)
Analyze three types of sufficiency problems. Know when a sufficiency problem is actually done.

TOPIC 2: VERBAL
Lesson 1 : Subjects (2 hrs)
Test taking techniques for the Verbal Section. Introduction to reading comprehension: locating subjects, summarizing, analogizing. Necessary logic examples for analyzing arguments.
Lesson 2 : Reading "Between" the Lines (2 hrs)
Breaking down reading comprehension structurally: finding answers in passages, pre-answering once passage is analyzed.
Lesson 3 : Analyzing Arguments and Sufficiency of Arguments (2 hrs)
Pre-answering strategies for the five types of argument questions. Particular attention paid to "assumption" and "weakening" questions.
Lesson 4 : Grammar and Error Correction (2 hrs)
Categorize error correction problems into types including Parallelism, Agreement, Split-infinitives, and Idiom.

TOPIC 3: WRITING
Lesson 1 : Structural Approach to Essay Writing (2 hrs)
Structured approach to writing. The four-part structure of a paragraph and the three part structure of an essay. Introduction to the “Rule of Three.” Do a detailed outline of an GMAT essay question together.

TOPIC 4: TEST TAKING STRATEGY
Lesson 1 : Analyzing Arguments Part II (1.5 hrs)
Review argument types, sufficiency, strengthening and weakening strategies.
Lesson 2 : Strategy and Method Review (1 hr)
Review test taking strategy. Determine student-specific strategy for test taking.

REMAINING TIME
Final 4 hours should be used for fine-tuning during the week immediately before the exam.
