Though we tailor our services to each client's unique needs, the following is a
typical LSAT preparation package. It includes twenty-four hours of in-person time
(not including the Initial Meeting) and another ten hours of online/phone
support time. Longer, more detailed, or alternately focused packages
can be created as needed.
INTRODUCTION
Initial Meeting : Getting To Know You (1 hr)
Review results
of diagnostic LSAT student took at home. Set goals related to test taking,
admissions, and work load.
TOPIC 1: TEST TAKING
Lesson 1 : How You Scored (2 hrs)
Review of test results.
Explain study plan based on weaknesses on LSAT exam.
Show formal solutions to all problems.
Lesson 2 : Learning the Method, Man (2 hrs)
Pre-answering, formal logic, effective guessing. 4-Step Approach to problem solving.
TOPIC 2: READING COMPREHENSION
Lesson 1 : Subjects and Tone (2 hrs)
Review pre-answer, formal logic, and effective guessing materials and homework.
Introduction to reading comprehension. Finding subjects. Summarizing.
Analogizing. Necessary logic examples.
Lesson 2 : Reading "Between" the Lines (2 hrs)
Review of reading comprehension homework. Work through full section of reading
comprehension. Show paragraph diagramming, pre-answering, previewing questions.
Preview Analytical Reasoning.
TOPIC 3: ANALYTICAL REASONING
Lesson 1 : The "Not Knots" (2 hrs)
Review homework. Formal logic review. Outline five types of analytical reasoning
questions for early identification and pre-answering.
Lesson 2 : The Five Families (2 hrs)
Review homework. Pre-answering strategies for the five types of AR
questions. Pay particular attention to "assumption" and "weakening" questions.
(both types rely on essential assumptions and are the most difficult of the
AR questions).
TOPIC 4: GAMES
Lesson 1 : A Picture's Worth a Dozen Points (2 hrs)
Introduction to games - explain four basic types of games. Diagramming of games
and use of game notation. Review games homework. Work through 1-2 games together.
Lesson 2 : I'm Not Your Stepping Stone (2 hrs)
The importance of finding and using intermediate logical conclusions.
Review more difficult games. Work through 2-3 full games together.
Test : Student takes 2.5 hour LSAT test. Apply techniques
TOPIC 5: TEST PREP
Lesson 1 : Strategy and Method Review (2 hrs)
Review test results from previous session. Review test taking strategy.
Determine student-specific strategy for number of questions to answer, games
to skip, and order of games.
Lesson 2 : Pulling It All Together (2 hrs)
Question and answer regarding test prep, individual test questions, and
previous tests.
REMAINING TIME
Final 4 hours should be used for fine-tuning during
the week immediately before the exam.
